The title of the book itself is magical and so is the story! The fact that certain situations in our life end up turning into adventures that you could possibly never imagine and these adventures are the chapters and memories in one's life.

Nooni, an adventurous city girl goes to her hometown from Bangalore to Somanahalli and spends her vacation with her grandparents. She was excited to see and meet and make new friends. She is surprised to find the pace at which her grandmother works. Her Grandmother also called Ajji, is glad to have her granddaughter Nooni. She shows Nooni, the different plants present and her kitchen. On one moonlit night, Ajji tells Nooni a fascinating story about the stepwell. She makes Pappad, learn to cycle and goes for picnics with her friends. She is fascinated by the story and can’t stop dreaming about it. She heard the same story but a slightly different story of the stepwell from her grandfather, Ajja. So one-day Nooni and her friends go to the forest and Nooni gets stuck in a swamp when all of a sudden she discovers something quite interesting and that is where she found the stepwell. The village members of Somanahalli helped her to unfold the mysterious stepwell from deep beneath the way.

What is the moral story of the book?

There’s so much that we could possibly enjoy in life and it's so much important to differentiate things and do the things that we genuinely enjoy. Life is short so it's important to enjoy every moment of it and make the fullest of every phase of it.
